Lets talk snacking! I am personally a big advocate for snacks. They get me through the days slumps.
Many of us live our lives short for time. We find ourselves forgetting about getting hungry before its too late. Your sitting at work going crap I need to eat something.. now! Without preparation the easy thing to grab is most likely not going to be the healthiest therefor it is important to be prepared for those moments.
Having thing such as nuts, seeds, fruit… ect. are the best ways to make sure you fill that void the right way!
I am here to help with this by offering my top 3 easy snack ideas for you! Enjoy
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Storage time: 4 weeks
YOU WILL NEED:
- Raw almonds (how ever many you wish to make for your snack cupboard)
- Tamari or reduce salt soy sauce
Preheat your oven to 190 degrees Celsius
Line baking tray and pour almonds on top.
Coat in Tamari and place into the oven for 15 minutes to roast.
Take out and leave to cool for 10 minutes.
Store in cupboard and try not to eat them all at once – although its quite tempting!
Cooking time: 5 minutes
Storage time: 2 weeks
YOU WILL NEED
- 400g of cooked/canned chickpeas
- 100g drained canned beetroot
- 1 tbs of oilve oil
- 1tbs of tahini (optional)
- 1 tbs of balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 cup of water
Place all ingredients into a blender and bliz in till creamy dip is formed.
Pour into container/bowl and store in fridge.
Perfect with carrot sticks, celery, crackers and/or on sandwiches and wraps!
THREE INGREDIENT COOKIES
Cooking time: 25 minutes
Storage time: 1 week
YOU WILL NEED
- 2 cups of rolled oats
- 3 tbs of rice malt syrup
- 1 ripe banana
Preheat your oven to 185 degrees Celsius
Mash banana with a dash of water in a bowl.
Place all ingredients into a mixing bowl and combine with hands.
Form into cookie shapes and bake for 15/20 minutes.
Leave to cool and then eat away!!
